Automatic Vehicle Identification system benefits (T1110)
This project set out to deliver a high-level case outlining how the Great Britain rail industry could co-operate and make the best use of Automatic Vehicle Identification (AVI). AVI is critical for infrastructure-based remote condition monitoring (RCM) systems by removing the need for a manual lookup process and by improving the reliability of data assignment to individual components. RCM is used in a number of areas including wheel bearings, pantographs and wheelsets.
