The aim of this project is to complete the identification of the qualifying attributes for the existing categories of differential speed; HST, DMU, EMU, MU by assigning numerate criteria to each. This will enable Network Rail, operators, train procurement and suppliers to fully exploit the opportunities speed differentials offer in terms of railway performance, journey times and capacity.
