Foundations of Good Decision Making

Whilst the rail industry is effective at providing prescribed rules and procedures, the Rule Book, standards and company policies cannot provide rules and guidance for all scenarios. At times, staff will find no rule covers the situation they find themselves in. When these situations occur, it is important organisations have foundations that support staff when they are required to make decisions to improve safety and operational outcomes.
