This project looked at identifying technologies which can be used to detect and prevent trespass incidents.

An investigation into the current industry processes for trespass data collection, to identify opportunities for future improvements.

This research aims to improve industry understanding of why trespass occurs and what is effective in preventing it, in order to inform industry decisions to reduce trespass on the network.

Establishing the effectiveness of anti-trespass signs and patterns of unauthorised access to the railway, especially by young people.

This project aimed to understand the factors behind trespass onto the railway at platform ends, mitigation measures and provide guidance on the application of each measure.

Understand what transferable lessons there are from large-scale campaigns such as drink driving, cruelty to children and smoking.

Identifying the direct and indirect costs of railway trespass and vandalism, by populating an industry-wide model, which expresses them by organisation, event and region to support investment decision-making.
