GMRT2142 Iss 4.1
Resistance of Railway Vehicles to Roll-Over in Gales
Synopsis
This document mandates requirements to be applied to railway vehicles so that they can operate under gale conditions in Great Britain. It applies to vehicles with conventional cant deficiency and design speeds not exceeding 140 km/h, and to all vehicles operating above conventional cant deficiencies and design speeds below 250km/h. The objective is to minimise the likelihood of vehicle roll-over.
Summary Of Changes
The document has been re-issued to clarify that for vehicles with conventional cant deficiencies the design speed requirements for cross wind apply to those with maximum design speeds not exceeding 140 km/h.
At its meeting in July 25, RST SC approved the 60m review recommendation that a project is initiated.
