RS521 Iss 7
Signals, Handsignals, Indicators and Signs Handbook
Synopsis
Summary Of Changes
The introduction of new acceleration indicators allows front of train acceleration for certain types of level crossing and for non-track-fault-related permissible speed restrictions. Clauses 7.1 and 8.1 have been updated to include descriptions and images for the new speed signs. Clause 8.1 has also been updated to provide an additional description text for the termination indicator, to explain the difference between the termination indicator and the acceleration indicator. These changes form part of a suite of standards changes that are intended to generate significant operational benefits from a reduction in the effects of delays.
Section 5.8 has been revised to provide additional explanation concerning ‘OFF’ indicators on ERTMS lines.
