Management and use of social media in the aftermath of a major rail incident (COF-G12-01)

Changes in social media mean that during a major incident, services such as Twitter will see a surge in activity that can overwhelm normal monitoring systems. This project, by the Centre for the Analysis of Social Media at Demos was commissioned by the Association of Train Operating Companies (now RDG) to determine the likely response in the UK on Twitter to a major incident would be.
