This research developed design concepts, layouts and drawings of prototype inerters in train suspension and examined the extent to which inerters could help reduce wear and tear on the GB railway. The design framework used to investigate the inerters resulted in a design for a enhanced trailing arm bush that could greatly reduce track wear.
