This project sought to develop a method of maintenance testing for all track circuit assister (TCA) equipment that does not require simulation of the wheel/rail interface and that can be performed with the vehicle concerned, in any position within a depot. It also sought to understand the need for any differences in the testing methods employed for testing Mark 1 and Mark 2 TCAs.
