Our governance groups

Our Board, Executive Committee, and Chief Operating Group play a key role in running RSSB. They guide our strategy to ensure that we’re supporting you to deliver a safe, efficient, and sustainable railway.

Our Board is responsible for the effective oversight of the company. It agrees the strategic direction and governance structure to ensure long-term success and deliver stakeholder value. Our Board includes executive and non-executive directors from across the rail industry and outside of it.

Board committees

We have three Board committees that help the Board with its responsibilities. Only non-executive directors make up these committees. Executive directors and senior management attend certain meetings by invitation.

Our Chief Operating Group comprises our Chief Operating Officer and the directors of the operational sections of RSSB. These are the teams responsible for the primary outputs that support the running and development of the operational railway.
