Evaluating the use of on-train driver controlled operation (passenger) monitors during station departures (T1059)
Driver Controlled Operation (DCO) trains rely on in-cab monitors to allow the driver to assess whether it is safe to close the doors of a train and depart, or whether there is a passenger or object caught in a train’s doors. This situation at the Platform-Train Interface (PTI) has led to criticism on the grounds of risk to passengers around a train’s doors.
