Development of a 26m vehicle standard gauge (T1092)

This research developed a 26m passenger vehicle gauge (PG3) for InterCity and diversionary routes for publication in Railway Group Standard (GERT8073 - Requirements for the Application of Standard Vehicle Gauges). This is a new gauge that builds on the work done on previous RSSB research (T978) - for the 20m and 23m vehicle gauges. It will be used to specify new rolling stock, and for the future cascade of existing rolling stock.
