Research into the management of passengers on trains stranded in high ambient temperatures (T626)

In June 2005, passengers stranded on a train near Huntingdon due to overhead line problems evacuated themselves from the train due to the extremely high temperatures inside the carriage. This placed them at risk of being hit by other trains and of injury from the evacuation itself. In some areas, the presence of a live third-rail adds to the risk.
