Evaluation of drivetrain technology for future Diesel Multiple Units (T746)

This project was planned to evaluate the options for the replacement or development of power sources and drive trains for future diesel multiple units with the aim of delivering efficiency and environmental improvements, taking due account of cost, performance and legislation. Before committing to a significant programme of work, an initial cost benefit analysis for the whole project was conducted. It established that there was insufficient justification to progress this project.
