This research sought to investigate the validity of current pantograph sway limits in Railway Group Standard GM/RT2149 ‘Requirements for Defining and Maintaining the Size of Railway Vehicles’, through analysis of worst case vehicle dynamics conditions and aerodynamic effects arising from cross winds.
