This M&EE Code of Practice details use and some aspects of the design and maintenance of rail mounted manually propelled equipment to prevent run-aways. It concerns all rail mounted manually propelled equipment used on Network Rail infrastructure and includes tools and equipment with more than 2 rail wheels. The document includes a brake test procedure that can be used during initial design acceptance.
