GERT8073 Iss 4

This document defines standard vehicle gauges and the associated application rules for rolling stock and for infrastructure.

GERT8073 issue four has incorporated the new passenger gauge PG3, and it has the appropriate modifications to sections referring to PG1, PG2 and LSVG which incorporate the modifications to the gauges. A new set of Standard Vehicle Gauge Data workbooks have been generated to accompany the new and updated gauges. The supplementary LSVG gauges for shoegear and tripcocks have been incorporated into GERT8073 issue four. The potential conflict between third rail equipment and tripcocks has been highlighted in the document.

RSSB are aware of issues in applying the new movement tables for the freight gauges (W gauges), except the W12 gauge, in GERT8073 issue 4. 
As an interim solution, we will be proposing to standards committee that the standard is revised as soon as possible, withdrawing the affected W gauges, and publishing issue 4.1. The movement tables for the affected W gauges in issue 3 will be reinstated.
