This document mandates requirements for managing the introduction and use of axle counters so that operational risks are controlled during planning, implementation and operational stages.
Summary Of Changes
GERT8217 was reviewed in accordance with the final report of the European Commission's Task Force on National Safety Rules (NSRs). The review concluded it duplicated European legislation, and could not be retained as a NSR nor as a Railway Group Standard. Its requirements remain valid and have been incorporated in RIS-8217-TOM Iss 1.
