This document gives guidance on interpreting the requirements of the Safety in Railway Tunnels Technical Specification for Interoperability (SRT TSI). It specifically gives guidance on the requirements for the Infrastructure and Energy sub systems. Requirements for the Rolling Stock Sub system are referenced. This document does not constitute a recommended method of meeting any set of mandatory requirements.

GIGN7619 issue two was developed following the updates to the Safety in Railway Tunnels Technical Specification for Interoperability. Lessons learned from industry projects have also been incorporated into the document.

12 month review - Industry to be consulted on whether a standards change should be initiated.

08/09/2025 - At its meeting in July 2025, INS SC approved the 60m review recommendation that a project should be established to revise the guidance note.
