This document gives guidance on interpreting the requirements of Railway Group Standard GKRT0053 issue one, Control of Unwanted Voltages on Telecommunications Equipment at Stations.

GKGN0653 is withdrawn as the requirements in its associated RGS no longer meet the criteria of national technical rules (NTRs) or national safety rules (NSRs) and therefore do not have status to remain in a railway group standard. Duty holders continue to retain responsibility for the management of the risk that the requirements address and any related hazards they control.
