Specific traction and rolling stock(T&RS) vehicles are required to have fire protection systems to enable them to run on the railway network. This Group standard identifies which vehicles, and which areas within the vehicles, require protection. Minimum requirements for fire protection systems on new and extended contract vehicles are specified within this Group Standard. Fire protection systems of existing vehicles shall not be degraded during their service life.
