This document sets out requirements for driver-actuated magnetic track brakes fitted to rail vehicles used on the GB mainline railway.

A GB specific standard for magnetic track brakes has not previously been available for users considering equipping vehicles with them and using them on the GB mainline railway. RIS-2710-RST sets out Industry agreed requirements for the installation of magnetic track brakes for use as a driver-actuated supplementary brake.
