When the home signal is provided at overlap distance in rear of a junction or fouling connection in order that a train may be freely accepted from the rear signal box with the junction connection in use, the provision or retention of an additional home signal is not an essential requirement. Where an additional home signal is omitted, an appropriate block control track circuit extending overlap distance ahead of the home signal must be provided.
