This Code of Practice details best practice for use and maintenance of battery or hybrid powered OTP. It defines best practice and industry guidance for use and maintenance of battery or battery-hybrid powered On-track Plant. 

The battery system is considered to be comprised of battery cells, battery packs and subsystems including, but not limited to, Battery Management Systems, Battery Thermal Management Systems, etc. The specific configuration of the system is not defined here and may include systems outside of the battery e.g. traction motors. Excludes hydrogen fuel cells.
