Summary Of Changes
The Handbook has been revised throughout to remove references to the obsolete competency of Safe Work Leader.
New instructions have been introduced at section 12 concerning a multi-mode train entering or leaving a portion of line where an emergency switch-off is in place, it being necessary for the collector shoes to be retracted. The title of the section has been changed to refer to multi-mode trains as well as electric trains.
The changes form part of a suite of standards changes relating to the introduction of new permanent and temporary power changeover signs applicable to multimode trains. It is anticipated that this suite of changes will make some contribution to reducing the number of failed changeovers.
