GERT8000-S7 Iss 7
Observing and obeying signalling indications. Train warning systems. Reporting signalling failures and irregularities
Synopsis
• a driver
• person controlling train movements
• shunter
• signaller.
Summary Of Changes
A new instruction has been added to section 7.1 on ‘Signalling equipment’ to report a block marker or location marker that is dirty.
Section 8.3 on a ‘Train receiving a trip’ has been changed to explain more clearly the intended sequence of events. First is to determine whether the trip has been caused by a train passing its end of authority without a movement authority. If so, then the instructions in module S5 Passing a signal at danger or an end of authority (EoA) without a movement authority (MA) will apply. If the trip was not caused by a train passing an EoA without an MA, then the instructions in section 8.3 will apply.
In the same section, the term ‘tripping’ has been replaced by ‘trip’ to avoid ambiguity with electrical tripping.
The changes form part of the suite of general updates issued annually which are intended to improve understanding and application of the content of the Rule Book and provide opportunities for duty holders to operate more efficiently.
