The introduction of new acceleration indicators allows front of train acceleration for certain types of level crossing and for non-track-fault-related permissible speed restrictions. Clause 2.1 has been revised to include driver actions when a change in permissible speed is indicated by an acceleration indicator with an additional description and diagram SP.1 (b) in clause 3.2.

The changes form part of a suite of standards changes that are expected to generate significant operational benefits from a reduction in the effects of delays.
