GERT8000-SS1 Iss 10
Station Duties and Train Dispatch
Synopsis
Summary Of Changes
There are three changes in this issue. The first is more detail on the definition of a platform starting signal. The second change is regarding the part of the train observed during the 'train safety check'. The third change is the addition of radios to give the 'ready-to-start' signal where no bell or buzzer communication is available.
The addition of the use of radios to give the 'ready-to-start' signal provides a cost-effective solution for industry by avoiding costs associated with retrofitting or modifying bell or buzzer communication equipment in the required vehicles. It should also contribute to a reduction in delays incurred from bell or buzzer communication equipment failure.
