GERT8000-TS3 Iss 8
Absolute block regulations
Synopsis
You will need this module if you carry out the duties of a signaller in an absolute block area.
Summary Of Changes
The rules for signalling trains in the wrong direction during single line working have been updated to reduce the use of detonators. A handsignaller now acts as the signaller’s agent at the end of the section, with an ‘end of degraded working’ sign replacing the handsignal. This sign is now used in a wider range of situations.
Section 9 has been rewritten and restructured to improve clarity for signallers. Handsignallers at intermediate locations are now referred to as ‘intermediate handsignallers’ to clarify their role. Diagrams in this section have been updated to remove detonators from protecting the obstruction as they may not always be used for this purpose. References to ‘pilotman’ in the diagrams have been changed to ‘pilot’.
