GERT8000-TW7 Iss 10
Wrong-direction movements
Synopsis
Summary Of Changes
The introduction of new acceleration indicators allows front of train acceleration for certain types of level crossing and for non-track-fault-related permissible speed restrictions. Section 4.2, ‘Level crossings’ has been revised to clarify that drivers can accelerate their train as soon as the front of the train is on the level crossing to be consistent with the implementation of the acceleration indicator rules. This change forms part of a suite of standards changes that are intended to generate significant operational benefits from a reduction in the effects of delays.
Further changes have been made to section 4.2 concerning level crossings with red/green warning lights that have wrong-direction controls. The same section has been revised also to expand the driver instructions on the actual warning horn sound to be used at level crossings with red/green warning lights in alignment with the wording in GERT8000-TW1 section 48.
