Application of Standard Vehicle Gauges
Synopsis
This document defines standard vehicle gauges and the associated application rules for rolling stock and for infrastructure.
Summary Of Changes
GERT8073 issue five replaces issue 4.1, with updated information on how the W6a Lower and W6a Upper gauges interface with each other; W10 and W12 gauge definitions updated to incorporate RSSB research project T1327 (2024); new gauge diagrams provided; references to TSIs updated to appropriate NTSN; Appendix C from GMRT2173 issue four incorporated into GERT8073; change of terminology from 'demountable load' to 'load unit'; reorganisation of 'Part 5 - Gauges applicable to the upper sector' to improve readability; new Appendix F for guidance on calculating static drops for freight wagons.
