Synopsis
This document sets out requirements for positioning infrastructure and maintaining the position of track relative to infrastructure to achieve gauge compatibility with rolling stock.

The changes to the document include two amendments to the clearance requirements, and associated guidance in issue two. The format has been brought up to date by including rationale and guidance.
Principles and Structure sections added in Part 1. Clarification added to clause 2.2.3.1 regarding the infrastructure that is within scope from AM002 against issue two. New requirements added as clauses 3.4.2 and 3.4.3 from AM001 against issue two. Section 4.1 Scope revised. New Appendix A ‘Considerations for structure gauges on new lines’ added, incorporating guidance from GEGN8573 issue four. References updated to include additional documents referenced.
