GMRT2141 Iss 5
Permissible Track Forces and Resistance to Derailment and Roll-Over of Railway Vehicles
Synopsis
Summary Of Changes
Issue four introduced the requirement for vehicles carrying intermodal load units to undertake the twist test in conditions of offset loading. Experience in applying this requirement has enabled improved guidance to be added in issue five. A permission is also included for the case where the specified offset loads cannot be achieved within the wagon’s approved loading.
Editorial changes have been made to update references to NTSNs and ENs and an additional flow chart, illustrating the process, has been added.
Additional clarification will make demonstration of compliance more straightforward for projects, reducing costs and potentially shortening timescales for the introduction of new or modified wagons.
