This document sets out requirements, rationale and guidance for the application of lineside operational signs published in the RSSB catalogue. It also contains the index of lineside operational signs published in the RSSB standards catalogue and the process for including a new design or a change of use of an existing sign to it. 

References to level crossing signs CC01 to CC17 have been removed from Appendix F as they have been replaced by those specified in The Private Crossings (Signs and Barriers) Regulations 2023.
