RIS-0799-CCS Iss 1
ERTMS/ETCS Baseline 3 Onboard Subsystem Requirements
Synopsis
This document sets out the industry agreed requirements and guidance for the Great Britain (GB) application of the ERTMS/ETCS Baseline 3 onboard subsystem to existing (retrofit) vehicles that operate on the GB mainline railway, and new build rail vehicles that will operate on the GB mainline railway.
Summary Of Changes
RIS-0799-CCS issue one consolidates the requirements for the application of ETCS onboard subsystems to rail vehicles so that they are capable of being safely integrated into the GB mainline railway and aligning with the GB ERTMS/ETCS requirements suite. RIS-0799-CCS issue one has been developed from RIS-0798-CCS issue one and RIS-0797-CCS issue one which set out the ETCS onboard subsystem requirements for new and existing (retrofit) rail vehicles, respectively.
Having one set of requirements in one standard reduces document maintenance, simplifies compliance, and provides less opportunity for inconsistency and confusion. Aligning the standard with the GB ERTMS/ETCS requirements suite supports integration across the GB mainline railway and enables industry to procure ETCS onboard subsystems in accordance with the latest industry requirements, which will help avoid potential retrospective changes.
