RIS-3350-TOM Iss 2
Communication of urgent operating advice
Synopsis
This standard sets out requirements, rationale and guidance for reporting and communicating urgent operating safety information.
Summary Of Changes
RIS-3350-TOM issue two sets out requirements for infrastructure managers and railway undertakings to follow when communicating urgent operating advice. The standard has been updated to make it clearer for users, and to support correct use of the GB rail industry’s processes for communicating urgent operating advice.
The document is now in the current Rail Industry Standard (RIS) format. This means that each requirement is now supported by rationale, to explain why it exists, and guidance to help users comply with the requirement.
Existing references have been updated, and new references to other documents that support the requirements of RIS-3350-TOM have been added. Appendix A has been rewritten to provide better guidance to help users understand their obligations.
In parallel, RSSB has prepared Technical Note TN105. This includes a flow chart to help users determine which process they should use to communicate urgent safety-related information across the industry.
