Route level assessment of technical compatibility between vehicles with traction batteries and infrastructure
Synopsis
The technical note aims to inform stakeholders on specific areas to carry out technical compatibility between battery-powered vehicles and infrastructure. These consider different technical aspects of battery-powered vehicle construction to help operational compatibility as the rail industry moves towards decarbonisation targets by introducing more bi-mode battery-powered vehicles on to the mainline railway.
Summary Of Changes
This technical note supports the industry with information on the introduction of lithium-ion battery-powered rail vehicles in advance of RIS-2781-RST issue one ‘Engineering Design of Vehicles with Traction Batteries and their Dedicated Charging Systems’ and GOGN3681 issue one ‘Operation of Vehicles with Traction Batteries’ being published.
