Scope

The OBT-WG’s scope considers safety risks to the workforce, passengers and members of the public whilst in transit on the GB railways; activities include:

  • staff competence
  • accessibility
  • areas that influence passenger and staff behaviour, including passenger safety information and communications
  • activity as directed by PTSRG.

The group meets quarterly and targets itself against an agreed roadmap of activities, ensuring it is effective and provides outputs that are linked directly to our industry’s shared strategy, Rail Health and Safety Strategy – Station Operations.

Membership

The OBT-WG has members representing these industry stakeholders:

  • passenger train operating companies
  • Department for Transport (observer)
  • Office of Rail and Road (observer)
  • RSSB representatives (see below section ‘Support Provided by RSSB’).
