Modern Slavery Solution Sharing Group

The Modern Slavery Solution Sharing Group (MSSSG) facilitates cross-industry collaboration in managing modern slavery risks on the railway. The group is accountable to the Social Sustainability Working Group (SSWG).
I’m very keen to build on the work the MSSSG has done with RSSB in the past and use opportunities to collaborate across different businesses and inform modern slavery railway policy and planning in the future.
As Chair, I actively welcome feedback from all stakeholders to enable them to propose, supervise and review improvements to our shared understanding of the issues around modern slavery in the rail industry.
Scope
The purpose of the MSSSG is to:
- Share best practice around supply chain transparency on modern slavery risk management within the group and across the rail industry.
- Lead on a coherent and clear guide to managing modern slavery risk on the railway.
- Promote the Good Practice Guide.
- Act as a group of subject experts on modern slavery for the railway industry and its supply chain.
- Facilitate greater engagement of industry stakeholders on the subject matter.
- Provide input to the social sustainability elements of the Sustainable Rail Blueprint.
- Identify research and development (R&D) needs around modern slavery and act as a steering group for R&D projects.
- Facilitate well-connected networks and joined-up activities to avoid cross-auditing.
