Preparation for and Operation during Winter
Synopsis
This document gives guidance on the preparation of infrastructure and rolling stock for winter and their subsequent operation during frost, ice and snow conditions on the Great Britain mainline railway. This guidance is intended to assist Infrastructure Managers and Railway Undertakings in understanding their responsibilities. Summary Of Changes
GEGN8628 issue two has been updated with industry best practice contained in the seasonal checklists issued by RDG and Network Rail. Updated examples and knowledge gained from the lessons that have been learned by railway undertakings and infrastructure managers had been added to the document.
