Section 41 has been revised to include instructions where trains are unable to make normal progress and may be brought to a stand, and to include signallers’ instructions. The intent of the changes is to allow a driver to communicate with the signaller earlier if a train has become or could become stranded. This will allow quicker implementation of mitigation measures and reduce the risk of train stranding incidents.
