GOGN3677 is intended to assist infrastructure managers and railway undertakings in understanding operational safety responsibilities when deciding what lineside telephony should be provided under the strategy of cab mobile GSM-R fitment, particularly in relation to critical assets, and what potentially may be recovered. This guidance should be read as supporting the network change process. In conjunction with this guidance a risk assessment tool has been produced to assist duty holders in reaching costed appraisal of the safety and performance benefits and disbenefits of providing or removing lineside telephony.
