Synopsis
This document mandates risk control measures to manage the operation of steam locomotives on Network Rail managed infrastructure.
Summary Of Changes
GORT3440 was reviewed in accordance with the final report of the European Commission's Task Force on National Safety Rules (NSRs). The review concluded it duplicated European legislation, and could not be retained as a NSR nor as a RGS. Its requirements remain valid and have been incorporated in RIS-3440-TOM Iss 1.
