This document sets out the requirements for the application of GSM-R train voice radio systems, specifically interface requirements for the infrastructure manager and the railway undertaking.

All requirements have been reviewed and rationale and guidance has been added. Requirements relating to the redundant Cab Secure Radio (CSR) and National Radio Network (NRN) have been withdrawn. Requirements added are for the algorithm enabling use of European vehicle numbers and the functional capability to issue berth triggered broadcast and non-verbal acknowledgements.

12 mnth review - recommentation to undertake a more detailed review, involving stakeholders, to determine the rationale and guidance to support technical updates.
