This technical note will help industry to determine GSM-R cab radio public address announcement priorities when integrated with the onboard public address system.

This technical note has been produced because the call priorities set out in the European Integrated Railway Radio Enhanced Network (EIRENE) system requirements specification for GSM-R cab radio and public address announcements onboard, are based on historic practice. The guidance in this technical note will support future uses of the GSM-R cab radio public announcement function.

• rolling stock owners and leasing companies;
• railway undertakings; and
