RIS-2273-RST Iss 2
Post Incident and Post Accident Testing of Rail Vehicles
Synopsis
This document sets out requirements for post incident and post accident examination and testing of rail vehicles, with particular requirements for testing of brakes, speed indicating systems, exterior doors and warning horns and conditions for speed restrictions for damaged train movement(s).
Summary Of Changes
The change addresses a recommendation for RSSB in Rail Accident Report 02/2016, published by the Rail Accident Investigation Branch, Department for Transport, in January 2016: Collision between a train and a fallen bridge parapet at Froxfield, Wiltshire, on 22 February 2015. The change is made by new clause 2.2.1 (with the existing 2.2.1 becoming 2.2.2), which has introduced a requirement setting out conditions to be considered and recorded when determining speed restrictions or other operational constraints for damaged train movement(s).
