RS504 is primarily aimed at duty holders who have a legislative obligation to comply with 'Regulation 25 - Fatigue' contained within 'The Railways and Other guided Transport Systems (Safety) Regulations'. It complements guidance produced by the Office of Rail and Road (ORR) that has been produced to assist duty holders to comply with ROGS. It provides a practical illustration of how fatigue risks can be systematically managed to improve the health and safety of the workforce and operations. It sets out key elements of effective fatigue management and illustrates how these can be incorporated into a company's overarching safety management arrangements.
