Rail Industry Standard for Driving Cabs

Synopsis

This document sets out supplemental requirements for the design, layout and operational equipment in driving cabs of rail vehicles in line with GB practice.

Summary Of Changes

From 1 January 2021, the EU Technical Specifications for Interoperability (TSIs) have ceased to apply in the UK and have been replaced by National Technical Specification Notices (NTSNs) pursuant to regulation 3B of the Railways (Interoperability) Regulations 2011. The technical content of TSIs have been substantially reproduced in the NTSNs except where there are UK specific alternatives identified as specific cases in the relevant NTSNs.

Therefore, references to TSIs in this document correspond to equivalent references in the National Technical Specification Notices (NTSNs).

As recommended by the 12-month review, RIS-2761-RST has been updated to change TSI references to NTSNs so that it remains valid and accurate following the UK's exit from the EU.
