Maintaining the Visibility of Signals and Operational Signs
Synopsis
This document sets out requirements and guidance to ensure that the visibility of signals and operational signs are not adversely affected during the life of the equipment.
Summary Of Changes
RIS-7708-INS issue one supports the industry by providing additional guidance and a revised rationale for maintaining the visibility of signals and operational signs.
Content has been transferred from RIS-8034-CCS issue one Maintenance of Signal and Operational Sign Visibility so that it is more relevant for the intended users. Rationale and guidance has been improved.
A total benefit to the industry of £258,240 over five years has been estimated as a result of changes in RIS-7708-INS, based on figures for upgrading 200 medium-sized stations, combined with reducing train delays due to obscuration from vegetation.
