GERT8000-DC Iss 7
DC electrified lines
Synopsis
Summary Of Changes
The rules for operating trains past a protecting signal towards an isolated section have been updated as part of the industry’s effort to reduce the use of detonators. The possession limit board remains in place to mark the limit of the movement, but detonators are no longer required. The updated rules place greater emphasis on clear communication between the signaller and the driver to ensure both fully understand the procedure and the movement limits. Wording in this module has been aligned with GERT8000-AC to maintain a consistent style.
In issue 6, new instructions were added at 14.7 cover when there are defective balises that would prevent automatic power changeover being carried out. The version of this section that was published in March 2025 was not the correct one, and the correct version has been published.
